15-month, 4.12% CD at Northrop Grumman FCU

Northrop Grumman Federal Credit Union has the best CD with a term around a year I’ve seen for quite a while: Their 15-month CD is yielding 4.12% APY. This CD has a minimum deposit of $40,000, although you can get the CD with a 3.86% APY with a minimum deposit of $2500. Unfortunately, to get this rates, you must either be a member of record of Northrop Grumman FCU prior to February 24, 2009 or be a current Northrop Grumman or Metro employee. Put another way, you can’t join this credit union just to get this CD unless you are a current Northrop Grumman or Metro employee.

Northrop Grumman Federal Credit Union is open to employees of Northrop Grumman Corporation, employees of Northrop Grumman subsidiaries (except those eligible for membership in another credit union sponsored by Northrop Grumman Corporation by virtue of their employment), and family members of employees of Northrop Grumman and current credit union members. If you don’t meet any of this reqirements, you can join Northrop Grumman FCU through a $50 membership in the Southern California Historical Aviation Foundation.
